Even though I am not able to read French and the artwork is not the most realistic, this is one of the coolest card sets as the animals depicted span seven different time eras as described below.  The Eohippus card (Eocene) is not numbered.
<P>The numbers printed on the cards reflect the time periods as follows: 1 = Devonian, 2 = Carboniferous, 3 = Permian, 4 = Triassic, 5 = Jurassic, 6 = Cretaceous, 7 = Eocene
