These puzzles were promotional items offered with dinosaur cards which were issued in cellophane packettes inserted into packages of Ralston Purina (General Mills) cereals such as Cookie Crisp (see images).  These puzzles were available in exchange for three UPC symbols from cereal packages or one UPC symbols from a cereal package plus $1.50. The offer states that there are four puzzles, each of which has two dinosaurs on them.  Since there were only four different cards, I am uncertain how they came up with eight different images. <P>NOTE: I listed the issuer of the puzzles as Ralston to keep the puzzles together with their associated cards.  Since the puzzle I own does not have any identifying information, I do not know exactly who issued these.
