Robert Telleria

In the dinosaur merchandise boom of 1987, these kid sneakers came in choice of colors with matching shadowed-out Rudolph Zallinger designs of Diplodocus, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops along the soles and bottom. Various unrelated designs were offered in the line as well. Only the cards and shoeboxes had a copy of Zallinger's Pulitzer Prize winning mural; note the positions and details have been changed. The Zallinger estate probably was unaware of this product though they share a New England provenance - the painting (at Connecticut's Yale Peabody Museum) and shoe company (based in Boston, Massachusetts).
