These are wonderfully illustrated educational 'flash cards' of some sort.  They are manufactured with a single punched hole in the top-left corner, presumably for use with a key ring.  Below are two different boxes for this set.  Because of language translation limitations, I am uncertain if these boxes are simply variations, perhaps tweaked for different regions of distribution or if they represent two different sets of cards (e.g., original set and a subsequent reissue).
 
There are two versions of this set:
  • Unnumbered - there is not obvious numbering on the cards
  • Numbered (this set) - there are large numbers printed on the backs of the cards at the bottom-right corner
