Pterodactyloidea (Taxonomic Rank: Suborder)
Advanced pterosaurs which, in general, had short tails, long wings, well-developed crests, and toothless jaws. The Pterodactyloidea appeared in the middle Triassic and were extinct by the late Cretaceous.
