Life by Geological Period
"Why has not anyone seen that fossils alone gave birth to a theory about the formation of the earth, that without them, no one would have ever dreamed that there were successive epochs in the formation of the globe."
Georges Cuvier, Discours Aur Les Rvolutions Du Globe
This section of The Dinosaur Fan presents life forms based on the geologic time period or time periods associated with the stratigraphy (i.e., rock layers) in which the evidence of the life form’s existence (e.g., fossils, footprints, eggs) was found. A list of the life forms I’ve thus far identified for each period is provided along with an over view (e.g., flora, fauna, tectonic / paleoclimate information, meteorite impacts), and artist images of that period.
