Excerpt:
“But the most gruesome aspect of the creature was its head. It hung low, in front of its ribs, on a two-foot long neck. Its head was little more than thin, clear skin clinging to the upper half of a human skull. There were no discernible teeth or lower jaw. If the creature had eyes, then Densler could not see them. The eye sockets appeared merely empty holes. The head tracked from side to side gracefully.”
